Tony Elumelu is a Nigerian economist, entrepreneur, writer, and philanthropist. He is the Chairman of Heirs Holdings, the United Bank for Africa, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria and founder The Tony Elumelu Foundation. He is a recipient of several awards among which is the Nigerian national awards (MON, CON). He was recognized by Forbes Magazines in 2012 as one of ‘’Africa’s 20 Most Powerful People’’.

- He was born Anthony Onyemaechi Elumelu on the 22nd of March 1963.
- He was born in Jos, Plateau, Nigeria but hails from Onicha-Ukwu in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.
- Tony Elumelu has two degrees in Economics from Nigerian universities; a bachelor’s degree from Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma and a master of science degree from University of Lagos.
