The National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has reacted to the appointment of Professor Ibrahim Gambari as the new Chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a tweet titled Statement on Appointment of Professor Gambari as Chief of staff, Tinubu described the appointment as laudable as he also listed some qualities which show that Gambari is qualified for the post.
According to the statement, Gambari distinguished himself as an Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and as the Secretary-General’s Special Envoy on Cyprus, Zimbabwe and Myanmar and Special Representative in Angola.
Tinubu further noted that the new CoS had made groundbreaking contributions in the areas of conflict prevention and resolution, democratisation and development in Africa.
The former governor added that Professor Gambari’s international reputation would help Nigeria secure national and international efforts and resources to contain Coronavirus pandemic and to advance Nigeria’s interests on other essential matters.
Tinubu expressed optimism that Gambari would discharge his duties with excellence and high purpose.
He prayed fo guidance and protection for him as he begins the task of assisting the President in forging a better Nigeria and a better life for all of its people.
Tinubu noted that the new Chief of Staff has his best wishes and encouragement.
You will recall that Boss Mustapha, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Wednesday officially announced the appointment of Professor Gambari during the Federal Executive Council, FEC Virtual meeting which was chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari.
