Terrorism in Nigeria is nothing new and has become so rampant that people are hardly ever surprised even if there’s a serious attack in a community.
However, what is bothering Nigerians today is the reality that the Federal Government claims to know no fewer than ninety-six (96) sponsors of terrorists’ activities in Nigeria.
Also, the Nigerian Government has further revealed that it knows up to four hundred and twenty-four (424) associates/supporters of the sponsors.
This information was unravelled through a thorough investigation conducted by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit.

Informing the public of the development, LaiMohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture, said on Thursday, February 3, during a briefing on the anti-corruption fight of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Minister also revealed that the fraud unit unmasked 123 companies and 33 bureaux de change linked with terrorism in Nigeria.
“For its part, the analysis by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit, in 2020-2021, revealed 96 financiers of terrorism in the country, 424 associates/supporters of the financiers, involvement of about 123 companies and 33 bureaux de change, in addition to identifying 26 suspected bandits/kidnappers and seven co-conspirators,” he said, among other unlisted cases.
