Fifa’s Manager of the Year Award Nomination List
Jurgen Klopp has been named in the five-man shortlist for this year’s FIFA Manager of the year award. He was nominated after guiding Liverpool to their first-ever Premier League title in over three decades. Not only did the Reds lifted the trophy at the end of the season, but they also won in style after gapping second-place Manchester City with a staggering 18 points.
And this is coming a year after winning their sixth UEFA Champions League trophy for the first time since 2005. The German-born tactician’s prowess has seen him named among the managers befitting for the annual manager of the year award recognising excellence in their field.

Klopp will be contending for the prestigious award with some other very excellent managers across Europe. The likes of Marcelo Bielsa, Hans-Dieter Flick, Julen Lopetegui and Zinedine Zidane are all in the list. Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa who is among the coaches listed only became Leeds United boss in 2018 and barely two years in charge, he led them back to the English Premier League after winning the 2019-20 EFL Championship title.
Champions League winner Flick was excellent with his Bayern Munich team and so was nominated, he won five trophies in the year under review both domestically and on the continent. Former Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui was released of his duties in 2018 but managed to grab another managerial role with Sevilla was also nominated.
He led Sevilla to Europa League triumph last season. the former manager of the year winner Zinedine Zidane is the fifth manager in the list after helping Real Madrid win the 2019 2020 season.
