Tuwo Shinkafa is a Nigerian local diet popular in Northern Nigeria. You cannot be in the cities of Kano, Gusau, Sokoto, Minna, Damaturu, Yola, and Kebbi and so on without having a taste of this food.

Ogi (pap) is a locally made food prepared from maize or millet. This name here is common to the people of Southwest, Nigeria. It is called ‘akamu’ by the easterners.

Ekuru is to corn; as beans is to moi-moi. There are lists of food from which corn can be processed into; the white moi-moi is another in this category.

Pekere could be called corn crisps/meal. It is different from ‘Kpekere’(plantain chips); another local snack popular in Nigerian roads and highways. Pekere is made like the akara balls (bean cakes) just that corn is used in this case.
