In a resounding call to action, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, the former Central Bank Governor and prominent Nigerian traditional leader, has passionately encouraged the country’s youth to reclaim their power and usher in a new era of effective leadership. Addressing a gathering of aspiring young leaders, Sanusi delivered a thought-provoking speech outlining the key reasons why it is essential for the youth to take control from failed leaders.

The first class traditional ruler, however, said that the press would not be allowed to interview the dethroned emir. “Yes, Emir Sanusi is in my palace. He arrived this morning around 3 a.m., but no one will be allowed to speak with him,” he said.

The source said security personnel have succeeded in taken the emir out of the place around 4:30 pm. “We are right now at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) on our way to Nasarawa state. It took us several hours to remove the emir from the palace.”

“For clarity, these directives may include the appointment of other members of the council, the appointment of staff of the council, provision of accommodation for the Council Secretariat and other logistics, to make the Council operation,” the letter read in part.

The letter entitled “Kano State Emirate Council Law, 2019 : Demand Letter” states clearly that, “The coalition of 35 Civil Society Groups under the above mentioned group (UMBRELLA OF KANO CONCERNED CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS) are curiously studying the unfolding events in the running of Kano State affairs especially in recent time, as it relates to the lingering face-off between the Government of Kano State on one hand and the Emir of Kano on the other hand.”
