The source said security personnel have succeeded in taken the emir out of the place around 4:30 pm. “We are right now at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) on our way to Nasarawa state. It took us several hours to remove the emir from the palace.”

The Kano State House of Assembly has received a fresh petition against Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II for alleged behavioural misconduct.
“Those who beg or seek assistance from individuals will be resurrected on the day of judgement without meat/flesh on their faces.
“For clarity, these directives may include the appointment of other members of the council, the appointment of staff of the council, provision of accommodation for the Council Secretariat and other logistics, to make the Council operation,” the letter read in part.
The letter entitled “Kano State Emirate Council Law, 2019 : Demand Letter” states clearly that, “The coalition of 35 Civil Society Groups under the above mentioned group (UMBRELLA OF KANO CONCERNED CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS) are curiously studying the unfolding events in the running of Kano State affairs especially in recent time, as it relates to the lingering face-off between the Government of Kano State on one hand and the Emir of Kano on the other hand.”
