The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi 11 has been dethroned by the Kano state Executive Council under the chairmanship of the state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
According to a press release made available by the secretary to the Kano state Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, the Emir was accused of disrespecting the lawful instructions from the office of the state Governor and other lawful authrities.

The Emir was accused of persistent refusal to attend official meetings and programmes organized by the Government.
In the press release, the Emir was accused of breaching part 3 section 13 (a-e) of the Kano State Emirate Law 2019
