Suspected herders have abducted an Ekiti Monarch, Obadu of Ilemesho Ekiti, Oba David Oyewumi, in Oye Local Government Area of the state.
The herders reportedly attacked the palace of the traditional ruler, where they abducted him.
EveryEvery.ng gathered that the herders numbering about six allegedly invaded the palace in a village very close to Isan-Ekiti, the State Governor’s country home, Kayode Fayemi and took the traditional ruler away to an unknown destination.
Meanwhile, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, has not confirmed the abduction.

In the meantime, members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, have held a meeting to discuss the ongoing security challenges, economic development, and issues relating to Nigeria’s legislative and judicial autonomy.
According to Governor Fayemi, the governors had fruitful deliberations and reached concrete action points.
He noted that the NGF would share the meeting outcomes with President Muhammadu Buhari and relevant institutions and implement those within their purview in our respective jurisdictions.
