Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has come out to confirm the possible players that will be travelling to Benin. Reports have it that they may use a boat to travel to their opponent country for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Super Eagles of Nigeria will battle the Squirrels of Benin on the 22nd of March in a decider clash. Gernot Rhor said in an interview that due to poor road network it is most likely the players will not travel by road to the capital, Porto Novo where the match will be played.
Super Eagles Coach gives Reason why they will Use Boat
The coach also appealed to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to move their hotel closer to the Nigerian-Benin border. Rhor said: “We will have the “fitness” at the hotel, which we did not have on the previous day in Benin City.”
Super Eagles coach said that he will not want to risk his players so it will be nice if they stay close to Benin, and not risk making the trip to Cotonou, where they will play the match and use a boat instead of vehicles due to bad road and traffic as well.
