English Premier League side Watford has come out to celebrate William Troost-Ekong’s goal and Man of the Match award, in the Super Eagles’ 2-0 win against Guinea-Bissau on Wednesday. The Premier League’s defender Troost-Ekong who is the skipper of the Super Eagles won the Man of the Match award and also scored a goal in the game.
Watford Lavish Praises on Super Eagles Skipper Ekong
Watford lavished praises on the Super Eagles defender for his outstanding performance with the Eagles. Nigeria came top of the group and they are the only team in the 2021 AFCON that did not lose any game throughout their group stage games, they recorded three wins in three games in Group D.
Ekong’s superb performance was what gave him the Man of the Match accolade. The win means the Eagles finish the group stage on nine points. And reacting to the win, Watford also recognizing Maduka Okoye, praised them for helping the three-time champions secure a 100 per cent record in the group stage.
