South African rapper Kiernan who is popularly known as ‘AKA’ Forbes was shot dead on Florida Road Friday night as reported by police sources in Durban, South Africa. It is also reported that another person believed to be AKA’s bodyguard was also injured, while an unidentified person, who is understood to be a close friend of the rapper, was also shot dead in the drive-by shoot-out.
Police in the province had yet to officially comment on the incident, but according to reports, the rapper was standing outside the Wish Restaurant when he was gunned down in a drive-by shooting. Two unknown cars are believed to have opened fire just before 10pm.

Social media posts said the rapper was due to perform at a Durban night club, YUGO, where he was expected to perform as part of his birthday celebrations. A tweet by @theNETng said, “Hours before he was shot, AKA and his friends shared a series of posts of their activities on IG, from the barbing salon to the restaurant where he was reportedly attacked. His death has sparked debates about attack on rappers after sharing their live location online.”
