Six years have passed since Skinny Girl In Transit began on Youtube and today officially marks the end of season 6 and potentially the entire show.
Season 6 started a few weeks ago with Tiwa losing her pregnancy, Shalewa dealing with a broken heart by Mohammed and Didi who does not believe in love.

Tiwa eventually gets pregnant again and she has found a way of looking beyond her own needs and supporting Mide with the show. She overcame the depression that came with the loss of a child and came out more strongly
Tiwa and Mide’s marriage suffered due to the miscarriage, but season 6 didn’t end without a pleasing end to that dilemma.
For Shalewa, she finally got out of an abusive relationship and told Kwame off just as we expected. Her fans can’t be proud enough. Although from the last scene she was seen, Shalewa and Mohammed were smiling at each other. If there is a season 7, it seems Shalewa and Mohammed might be back together.
From the feedback on social media concerning that scene, it is public opinion that Shalewa should not get back with Mohammed. Shalewa initially left Mohammed because he cheated on her with Faridah in Kano.
After the breakup, she met Kwame and their relationship was an abusive one. This is where true friendship comes in. Shalewa asked Tito for advice and Tito said every relationship can’t be perfect and they would have their problems but domestic violence can always be worked out.
Shalewa took Titos advice and initially ran with it. She went back to Kwame and forgave him for slapping her and being violent with her. It took seeing domestic violence take place at the bank for her eyes to really see Kwame for who he really is. She went back to Kwame’s house and really told him off in the most dramatic scene Skinny Girl In Transit has seen since inception.
On Shalewa probably getting back with Mohammed, Shalewa just got out of a relationship and is in no way ready to get back with Mohammed. She needs time to just be her own woman and not jump in bed with Mohammed just because Kwame was a monster. Also, women should begin to see their worth and not have to settle for less or have to choose between two evils.
Didi also had a happy ending. She moved from dating horrible men in season 1 to changing her men like she changed clothes, to giving up on love, then finally landed herself a proposal from an amazing man who loves and respects her in Season 6.
Didi and Editi’s engagement is sure to go down in history as one of the most iconic proposals in web series history. Simple, creative, romantic and heartwarming, the proposal scene will have many people saying, “God when” for weeks.
The end, they say, is better than the beginning and Skinny Girl In Transit is one web series that fits that saying. It was 6 awesome seasons of love, tears, laughter and invaluable lessons to be learned. We hope to see more content like this from Ndani TV in future.
