Nigerian artists are not slowing down as they continue to surprise their fans with new music during this coronavirus pandemic. The world is on lockdown, music has since been a way out to ease off the pressure this time.

Although many activities in the world couldn’t go on as usual, yet music could still be made indoor by music artists. As much as many lives have been lost worldwide, music is said to be another form of life that keeps us all going.

Some albums have been released in Nigeria since the outbreak of the deadly virus. One of the ways of staying safe during this period is to stay at home. Staying indoor is better when the soul is lifted by good music.

Although the virus outbreak started in the Chinese city of Wu Han late 2019, it became a pandemic as we got to the third month of the year. Shows and tour were cancelled but music could still be released by some artists.

  1. Yellow by Brymo: Nigerian singer, Brymo released his 7th studio album on the 1st of April to the admiration of his fans. The album titled ‘Yellow’ is definitely one of the best things you would hear today. Yellow is made up of 15-tracks among which are hit tracks such as ‘Black Woman, Black Man’, ‘Ozymandias’, ‘Adedotun’, ‘Gambu’, ‘Afeedu-feena’, and so on. The album has really met music lovers indoor and Brymo has done well to make good music at this time.
  2. The Quarantine Playlist by Teni: Multiple award winner, Teni released a 4 tracks EP compiled by famous Nigerian disc jockey, DJ Neptune on the 1oth of April 2020. It is a season of quarantine, the talented singer and songwriter made sure she made something good for our listening pleasure. The Quarantine Playlist has the hit track titled ‘Isolate’ in the four tracked EP.
  3. Code Name Volume 2 by Dremo: Another body of musical work released during this period so far is Dremo’s ‘Code Name Volume 2’ released on the 17th of April 2020. The 12-tracks album has on it some of the finest Nigerian musicians. Rapper Falz featured on the 7th track titled ‘Sharp Sharp’ while rave of the moment, Naira Marley joined Dremo on the 8th track titled ‘Kojinaba’. DMW boss featured on the 9th track titled ‘Mabel’ while label mate, Peruzzi graced the album with a collaboration on the 11th track titled ‘Ghetto Luv’.
