Manchester United and Scotland’s Scott McTominay has been sent home from the World Cup qualifying squad’s training camp in Spain with a throat virus. The 24-year-old Manchester United player will miss their Friday’s clash in Moldova but could return for Monday’s home tie with Denmark.
Scott McTominay Suffers Throat Virus
A win for Scott McTominay and his teammates will secure a World Cup play-off place. Scotland head coach Steve Clarke. said: “It’s disappointing to lose the player for this game, but it’s a good chance for someone else to play in the team.” “We have good cover at centre back and in midfield.”
McTominay, capped 28 times, and he scored his first international goal against Israel last month, in their 3-2 victory over Israel, and has featured in defence and midfield for the Scotland team. He is not the only player that will miss the game as their defender Grant Hanley is injured, and suspended attacking pair Ryan Christie and Lyndon Dykes will also miss Friday’s game.
