Samuel Eto’o Frowns All-Time Dream Team Selection
A total of 33 players were listed in the all-team dream team with football fans reacting that Ronaldinho did not make the first eleven. Samuel Eto’s has come out to blast the whole selection.
The three-time Champions League winner and Cameroon football legend Samuel Eto’o has slammed France Football as they ignored African football legends in the Ballon d’Or all-time dream team selection.
They selected a total of 33 players which they categorized the teams into three different groups. The former Chelsea and Barcelona striker disagrees with the selection as no African player was selected.
The French Magazine commissioned about 140 journalists across the globe to come up with three different sets of teams to be recognised for their exploits in the game.
Five-time Champions League winner Cristiano Ronaldo and his arch-rival Lionel Messi made the first team. The likes of Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldinho, Gianluigi Buffon and Johan Cruyff were all in the second team while in the last team they have Manuel Neuer, Sergio Ramos, Andres Iniesta, Thierry Henry and Marco Van Basten including Michel Platini and a few others.
Samuel Eto’o made his mark in the world after winning three Champions League titles with both Barcelona and Inter Milan back to back, he was not in any of the lists and no African was mentioned as well.
The likes of Goerge Weah, Samuel Eto’o, Jay Jay Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Didier Drogba, Yaya and Kolo Toure all did well in their various clubs and countries but none was mentioned.
Could this be said to be a racial stunt or what, as Africans were totally neglected in the selection process?
