Antonio Rudiger Again Cries for Nigeria
Germany and Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has voiced out again over the killing youths in Nigeria amid the escalation of the #EndSARS protests. The Germany international took to his Twitter handle on Wednesday to express his solidarity to the movement while condemning the authorities’ poor responses which have caused deaths of the victims.
Antonio Rudiger has been monitoring the #EndSARS and #EndPoliceBrutality protests in Nigeria and has been in support of the good cause the young Nigerians have been agitating for. The Chelsea centre-back first expressed his solidarity last week when he tweeted: “Police brutality in Nigeria needs attention. You do that to your own people.
The player tweeted again on Wednesday via his Twitter handle, @ToniRuediger: “After my short statement about Nigeria already last week, I’m now even more shocked about how the situation there has got more and more out of control.” Rudiger also said: “It is more like a military rule and it’s a violation of human rights at the highest order.” “President @mbuhari and the Nigerian Army, stop killing peaceful young protesters. Stop killing the people you are supposed to protect.” “The protesters didn’t ask for war, just for a better Nigeria. #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria #EndSARS.”
