Ronaldo Missed a Penalty as Juventus Shared Points with Atalanta
Cristiano Ronaldo missed a penalty that would have given defending champions Juventus much advantage in the Italian Serie A as they drew 1-1 with Atalanta. Juventus have now draw for the sixth time in 12 Serie A games.
Juventus were put in front by Federico Chiesa with a fine strike from outside the box. The goal was the player’s first league goal for Juventus. But the equaliser came almost immediately when Remo Freuler drove in fine 25-yard strike off the underside of the bar.
Cristiano Ronaldo had a chance to win the game after Chiesa was fouled but Pierluigi Gollini guessed right to save his kick. The former Aston Villa keeper Gollini had an excellent game as Ronaldo’s penalty was not the only save made. He denied former Chelsea and Real Madrid attacker Alvaro Morata with a good save.
Juventus have been on an impressive form have been unbeaten in their 12 league games under new manager Andrea Pirlo. They are third in the table, four points behind leaders AC Milan.
