“I Am Staying,” Romelu Lukaku Tells Chelsea
According to reports, his former Chelsea has been keeping a close tab on the player to sign him. They were willing to spend £74m in 2019 for the attacker right now. They are planning on spending even more to land the player who has scored 64 goals in 95 games for the club.
But, after winning Inter’s first Serie A title in 11 years, there has been speculation that the 28-year-old could be sold due to cost-cutting at the San Siro club. But Romelu Lukaku came out and said: “I am staying.” “I feel good at Inter,” he added. The club owners are seeking to cut costs which made Antonio Conte quit his job with the club.
Lukaku said: “I’ve already had contact with the man who becomes our new manager.” “Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet. It was a very positive conversation. There’s also the challenge of doing it again (winning the league).” The attacker is currently with Belgium national team preparing for the Euro 2020. Belgium has been drawn in Group B along with Russia, Denmark and Finland.
