Former Leeds United and Barcelona’s new signing Raphinha scored a Lionel Messi standard goal to give Barca the victory over Real Madrid in their friendly El Classico game which was played in the U.S Las Vegas.
Raphinha Scored as Barca Beat Real Madrid in El Classico
The goal from the Brazilian was the only goal as Barcelona beat Spanish La Liga and European champions Real Madrid in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
The Brazil international joined the La Liga giants from Leeds United in a deal worth up to £55m earlier this month. He has now scored two goals in two pre-season games in the United States.
Raphinha scored in their first and gave one assist as well. His goal came in the 27th minute of the game after he intercepted a backpass from Real’s Eder Militao to secure the win in a match in which Robert Lewandowski made his debut for Barca.
Real Madrid, who were without star striker Karim Benzema, failed to register a shot on target throughout the entire game. As it is known they can’t be an El Classico without a fight Brazilian star Antonio Rudiger was in a fight with Barcelona defender Araujo.
The goal from Raphinha and the fight seem to have re-ignited the El Classico spirit of Spain which seems to have died down after the departure of Ronaldo and Messi.
The last time the two met was in their league game and it ended 5-0 in favor of Barcelona.
