Professor Godswill Obioma has been appointed the new registrar and CEO of the National Examination Council, NECO. He was before now the resident commissioner of the council in Ebonyi state. Prof Obioma was appointed to replace the former CEO, Charles Uwakwe, who was on suspension for the last two years before his sack last week.
Prof Obioma’s appointment was confirmed in a statement released by the Head PRO and signed by the Minister of Education. The appointment took effect since 14th May 2020.

Prof Obioma hails from Bende in Abia State and is aged 67 years. He had served as an executive secretary at the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council. He also headed the Monitoring, Research and Statistics Department at the National Business and technical Examination Board, NABTEB.
Prof Obioma was described in the statement as an erudite scholar with many scholarly publications.
