Portuguese champions Porto have completed the signing of West Ham’s Felipe Anderson, Liverpool’s Marko Grujic and Chelsea’s Malang Sarr on season-long loan deals. The transfer window closed on Monday 5th of October but it for the English clubs the window in Portugal is open until 25 October.
Tuesday was the Champions League deadline for registering players. Brazilian 27-year-old international Anderson joined West Ham United for £36m in 2018 – a club record fee at the time. The midfielder failed to start a match for West Ham this season.
Liverpool was keen for midfielder Grujic to move on a permanent basis but, after bids for Grujic from the Bundesliga failed to meet their valuation on transfer deadline day, they were happy to loan the player to the Portuguese champions. The 24-year-old will now join up with Porto after international duty with Serbia.
There is no option to buy included in the loan deal but the chance of Grujic playing for a club in the Champions League is seen as an attractive proposition for both the player and Liverpool. France 21-year-old defender Sarr who only joined Chelsea in August, signing a five-year contract after leaving Nice when his contract expired has also moved to Porto on a season-long loan.
