A 26-year-old man known as Eson Fatgoel is in police custody for spending fake naira notes in Adamawa state.
The suspect was caught on Saturday, October 31, 2020, in the Numan Local Government Area of the state.
DSP Suleiman Yahya Nguroje, spokesperson of the police command confirmed this to newsmen on Sunday .
According to the DSP, Eson has been circulating fake naira notes in the Guyuk, Lafiya and Numan local government areas for a while.
The man had a habit of exchanging good and services for these fake notes knowingly and often got away with it until Sunday.
Nguroje advised residents of the state to be very careful while carrying out transactions to avoid falling victim to such.
He also used them to report any suspicious person or activity to the police.
