“Pokemon Sword and Shield” is coming to gamers November 15, 2019, and it will be the first real Pokemon game for Nintendo Switch. From the intro video, you can already tell that Sword and Shield will be a full extension of the Pokemon universe taking place in the Galar region.
A couple of new Pokemon are also coming with the new game including a sheep one called Wooloo; a bite type called Dredgnaw, and a flower thing called Gossifleur. In this extension, everyone loves to watch battles on TV and its kind of cool for big battles.
In this new environment, there is a “Wild Area” which is a cool open world between human settlements where you can encounter wild Pokemon. When compared to previous rigid environments in the Pokemon universe, this new environment is freer and more dynamic. This environment changes with weather conditions and time of day.
Pokémon also get a special power called ‘Dynamax’ in this installment, which is a special power that makes them huge and more powerful for three turns. This also factors into a new mode where up to four Pokémon trainers can team up to squad raid a single Dynamax wild Pokémon who retains their amped-up power for the duration of the conflict. At the end, players get a chance to capture the Pokémon – and some are exclusively available to catch this way.
The real capper though was a CG cinematic introducing the game’s legendaries, which are wolf-like Pokémon who have – you guessed it – a sword and a shield respectively. These are called Zacian and Zamazenta.
New characters and scenes also got an introduction. They include region champion Leon, his younger brother Hop who is a primary rival for the player.
