In the ongoing Copa America, Peru beat Colombia 2-1 on Sunday to keep their hopes alive as they hope to advance to the knockout stage of Copa America. Sergio Peña opened the scoring for the Peruvians in the first 17th minute of the game before Miguel Borja equalized for Colombia.

Peruvians went in front again for the second time in the game after Everton defender Yerry Mina scored an own goal 11 minutes after Miguel Borja levelled the scores for the Colombians. The game was played at the Olimpico stadium in Goiania.
They are in the third position in Group B with three points after playing two games. Colombia remains with four points in the second spot. Brazil is topping the group with six points as they have won all two of their games. They have just two games remaining in the group stages before they move to the knockout stage.
Nevertheless, with four of five teams from the group progressing to the next round, they stand a good chance of making it through to the next stage of the competition as the best losers’.
