A day after the reports about how some people looted a COVID-19 Warehouse in Lagos State, some residents of Osun have discovered a COVID-19 palliative warehouse located in Ede, where they carted away various food items and packages that was stored in the warehouse.
It was gathered that the warehouse, located at Cocoa Products Industry Nigeria Limited, Ede-Osogbo road, Ede North is owned by the Osun State government as the youths didn’t wait for the government to share the items as they happily looted the items and escaped with as much as they could carry.
The palliatives that were found in the warehouse are raw food items like beans, noodles, sugar, salt, garri, rice, pastas, cartoons of Indomie noodles and some other food items which were carted away by the residents.
Speaking with journalists, one of the people at the scene of the incident said they believe the government will not eventually share the palliatives to people but want to keep them till 2023 as campaign materials.
You will recall that on Thursday, October 22, it was reported that hoodlums attacked a warehouse and looted the COVID-19 palliatives which were kept at Mazamaza community in Oriade Local Council Development, Area, Lagos state. After the hoodlums gained entrance into the warehouse, they looted the food items that was kept in the store. The warehouse is located at Benster Crescent, popularly known as Monkey Village.
