Owner of Olympiakos and Nottingham Forest Evangelos Marinakis has been reported to have the trending illness Coronavirus. He was the person that admitted it himself, he took to his social media handle instagram precisely and confirmed he has the virus.
The Greek businessman was present at their Europa League tie at Arsenal on February 27, which ended in favor of his team Olympiakos. He said he is religiously following the directives of the doctor and he has been placed under quarantine for the main time until further notice.
He wrote on his Instagram page saying: “the recent virus has visited me” in a statement on his official Instagram page. “The recent virus has “visited” me and I felt obliged to let the public know.”I feel good as I take all the necessary measures and I discipline to the doctors’ instructions. I strongly advise all my fellow citizens to do the same. I wish all a quick recovery.”
Evangelos Marinakis was in attendance for the 3-0 home win lost to Millwall in the Championship on Friday last week in the Championship. The challenge now is that nobody can acertain yet the number of people he made contact with before and after the game. Report has it that the 52-year-old met the team on Friday night, and a crowd of 27,307 was in attendance at The City Ground to watch the game.
Evangelos Marinakis admitted to have made contact with some Arsenal stuffs and this has made the EPL Matchday 28 game between Arsenal and Manchester City to be postponed. The Championship side annouced that Mr. Marinakis was diagnosed after showing the first symptoms on his return to Greece yesterday afternoon. During his short stay in Nottingham last week he did not show any symptoms of the virus.
“The club are seeking advice from medical professionals and the relevant governing bodies to ensure the correct measures are taken. “Until this time the club will be making no further comment.” A Millwall spokesperson told newsagents that: “Millwall can confirm that senior club representatives, who came into contact with Mr. Marinakis last Friday, have all begun a period of self-isolation, as per government advice.
“This is purely a precautionary measure and no individual has displayed any symptoms. The club will continue to follow all necessary guidance from the appropriate bodies” they added.
Evangelos Marinakis Made contact with an Arsenal staff in the Game Against Olympiakos
Following Arsenal’s Europa League last-32 tie against Olympiakos, Arsenal management has confirmed that a staff did made contact with Marinakis during their game last month. The game which was the second leg of the FA Cup and was played at the Emirates stadium, and ended in favor of Olympiakos.
An Arsenal spokesperson told newsmen that none of their staff who came in contact with Mr Marinakis on the matchday have shown any symptoms since. “We continue to follow strict protocols with regard to Coronavirus.
We’re following the Government health guidelines and have additional procedures in place to protect our players and staff. “This has included regular deep cleaning of areas used by players at Emirates Stadium and our training center.” With rapid spread of the virus, Italy has shutdown all sporting activities in the country already just to help prevent further increase in the country.
Wolverhapton has also sent a complain appealing to Europa to post-pond their Europa League first leg game which is against Olympiakos. Europa League management has not sent any reply yet based on that but all games in Europa now will be played behind closed doors.
