It is a sad time for the family, and loved ones of a Nigerian beauty queen shot dead by an unknown gunman in front of her family house.
Najeebat Sule, known to her family as Najee, was a 24-year-old PhD student and former beauty queen before she was murdered. According to reports, she was shot while texting her friend in her car while seated in her car just in front of her family home in the 8800 block of Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia.
Habibat Magaji, a close friend who spent the previous night hanging out with the victim said, “I can’t think of anything that would make anyone want to kill her”
Nigerian Beauty Queen Shot Dead
Barely a day after they saw, on the 12th of March, Najeebat was shot several times in her grey Toyota while texting Habibat.
Najeebat’s father, Adewale Sule, reported that he heard the gunshots and rushed out of the house only to catch the last shot being fired at his first daughter. He said,
“I saw the guy shooting my daughter. He shot the last round and I pursued him. He ran back to his car.”
She was immediately rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
At the time of this report, the police have not established a motive for the murder or made any arrests forcing the family to go into hiding for safety.
Najeebat is survived by her parents and two sisters.
She was crowned the second runner-up at the Miss Nigeria International Pageant.
