Bandits kill no fewer than 70 people in Shiroro area of Niger State. The invasion started gradually on Sunday and spread to other villages. A good number of people were also reported injured from the attack.
From the reports gathers, women and children were the most affected as not less than 1000 farmers and fishermen have been expelled from their villages.
Some of the injured persons have been rushed to Kuta, Erena and Zumba as some villagers are currently taking refuge in IDP camps.
Some casualties include seven persons in Gwassa, five in Ajayin Bataro, four others in Bwailo and three persons in Baton village with two more in Giji town. All in Niger state.
The police command in the Area has confirmed the attacks and the casualties, although the course of the event is yet to be known. Investigations are currently on-going.
