The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control, NCDC has revealed that individuals aged above 50 years or with critical medical conditions have a higher risk of COVID-19 complications.

The Agency added that COVID-19 Complications affects people differently depending on age and underlying health status.
Meanwhile, the Director-General of the NCDC, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu has disclosed that over the recent weeks, the agency had a huge increase in the number of samples from several states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
According to him, the increase in the number of samples has led to an unusual delay with testing. Iheakwasu noted that despite the delay, the agency is working round the clock.
However, as of the time of filing this report, Nigeria has recorded 1,133 new cases of COVID-19 with Lagos State leading the list of States with the new cases.
Lagos recorded 397, FCT-357, Kaduna-81, Plateau-63, Katsina-46, Sokoto-32, and 28 were recorded in Oyo State.
Ogun State recorded 21 new cases, Kano-19, Rivers-18, Osun-13, Edo-12, Niger-12, Bayelsa-11, Borno-11, Bauchi-8, Jigawa-2, and 2 cases were recorded in Ondo State.
In total, 80,922 cases have been confirmed with 69,274 discharged and 1,236 deaths.
