PTF Reveals Plan On COVID-19 Vaccination In Nigeria

The Presidential Taskforce, PTF on COVID-19 has revealed plans on how the COVID-19 vaccine would be administered on Nigerians when vaccination finally begins in the country.

He further revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari had on Tuesday mandated the PTF to proceed with preparations concerning the COVID-19 vaccination (read more here)

According to Saliyu, President Buhari had also given the PTF a marching order that the COVID-19 vaccine should be made available in Nigeria making use of the GAVI arrangement.

He further revealed that the Nigerian government have the assurance that 20% of Nigeria’s population would be accommodated by GAVI, which is about 40 million Nigerians.

Saliyu said efforts are being made to sensitise Nigerians and deliver the vaccines across the country given the fears that Nigerians may be reluctant to receive shots of the vaccines.

The Coordinator disclosed that the PTF is working with the Federal Ministry of Health and Primary Healthcare Development Agency to ensure smooth delivery of the COVID-19 vaccination.
