The international friendly game between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the El Tri of Mexico is heating up as the Mexicans have already arrived. The match is scheduled for July 3, which is next month, and both teams are have embarked on a massive session. The two countries will clash at the Los Angeles Coliseum, United States of America, on July 3.
Mexico Players Arrives Loss Angeles for Nigeria Friendly
The head coach of Mexico, Gerardo Martino, plans on using the game as part of his team’s preparations for the CONCACAF Gold Cup slated for the USA next month. Nigeria will be using the home-based Super Eagles to play the game as the foreign-based has no made any progress in their last international friendlies.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have played with them five times, and in those five games, they drew three and lost the remaining two, which means Nigeria has never beaten the El Tri of Mexico before. Nigeria lost to them on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the 1995 King Fahd Cup (later rebranded as the FIFA Confederations Cup).
Since 2007, both countries have faced each other three times in a friendly which ended in a draw.
