Chelsea came from behind to level scores with Southampton as the Saint Mary Stadium. Mason Mount scored the penalty spot to ensure the two teams shared points.
The draw ended Southampton’s six successive defeats in the English Premier League. The hosts took the lead from the first 33 minutes of the game after Nathan Redmond played a brilliant ball to Liverpool loanee Takumi Minamino who placed the ball beating two defenders and the keeper.
Mason Mount Scores Penalty to Save Chelsea
Mason Mount helped Chelsea to come back to the game as they have gifted a penalty eight minutes into the game which he converted perfectly. Southampton went close to grabbing a winner through Jannik Vestergaard which hit the crossbar.
The point means Chelsea remain in the fourth place position with 43 points while Southampton are 13th with 30 points. No side has dropped more points from winning positions than Southampton in the English Premier League this season.
