Brendan Rodgers in Manchester United List Again
The result came on the back of the consistent defeat United has been having for the past three weeks. Manchester United lost three straight matches. They lost to Liverpool, Manchester City before losing to the struggling side, Watford. The humiliating result led to the sack of the Norwegian, who has been in charge since 2018.
Manchester United confirmed on Sunday that Michael Carrick would take temporary charge of the club while they search for an interim boss to assume control for the remainder of the season. According to reports, United hopes that Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino can be convinced to leave France and join them if Brendan Rodgers rejects the offer.
According to The Sun, United has also contacted Brendan Rodgers as they look to keep their options open. They are said to be prepared to pay his £8million compensation fee to the Foxes. Rodgers was recently asked about possibly managing United before Solskjaer was sacked, and he said it is disrespectful. According to him, he said: “Firstly, it’s disrespectful for you to ask the question when there is a manager in place – a good manager and a good man who’s working at the club.”
