World-famous footballer Lionel Messi has reportedly joined Paris Saint-Germain, PSG, after his emotional and remarkable departure from Barcelona.
PSG confirmed that Messi joined the club in a video via their Twitter handle. Earlier, Messi conceded that joining PSG was only a possibility during a tearful farewell news conference in Barcelona.
PSG had reportedly offered Messi an initial two-year deal, thought to be worth £25m a year after tax. The Argentina international had spoken directly with PSG head coach Mauricio Pochettino about moving to the French capital.

In the farewell message, Lionel Messi confirmed his exit from Barcelona. He said there was “a possibility, of him joining Paris Saint-Germain although nothing is agreed” yet between him and the club. Messi is ending his 21-year association with Barca, who could not give the player a new contract because of La Liga’s salary limit.

The record six-time Ballon d’Or winner, 34, is now a free agent. Messi said: “My family and I were convinced we were going to stay here, at home,” “This is the end of this club, and now a new story will begin. Yes, it’s one of the most difficult moments for me,” he said.
