Robert Lewandowski has joined the likes of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic in raising funds to help combat coronavirus. The Poland international and his wife Ann Lewandoski has donated £923,900 to help in fight the virus.
Their act of charity drew the attention of other football players as well, his team Leon Goretzka, David Alaba and Joshua Kimmich have also set up a fund called We Kick Corona to combat the pandemic and contributed one million euros each as well. Also German and Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has also made financial donations too.

According to Lewandoski, he said: “We are all aware of the difficult situation.” “Today we all play in a team. Let us be strong in this fight. If we can help someone, let’s do it. “This situation affects every one of us, so we ask you to follow the instructions and listen to those who know best. Be responsible.”
The project is aimed at creating awareness and raising funds to help combat the COVID 19 pedemic, they have so far raised more than 2.5m euros and charities and social institutions can apply for funds from the organization on its website.

German attacker Leon Goretzka speaking on his view about the project he said: “Everyone can help, both in small and large ways.” “Only if we stand together now, show reason and responsibility and are there for each other can we make it out of this crisis.” The virus has affected all sporting activities in the world it has paused all the games.
