The Super Eagles of Nigeria bounced back from behind to beat Lesotho at home to a remarkable 4-2 win. They once more thrashed Lesotho in their Setsoto Stadium on Sunday placing Nigeria in the top of Group L. Benin, on the other, registered their first victory in the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifiers campaign.
The home sides were the first to find the back of the net after the first 11 minutes of the game. Masoabi of Boem Celtic football club nodded the ball into the back of the net putting his side in front. Nigeria bounced back to equal the score line in the 26th minute with Alex Iwobi placing the ball beyond the reach of the goalie from Victor Osimhen’s pass.

Samuel Chukwueze doubled the lead in the 36th minute of the game from well lifted pass from Victor Osimhem to put the visitors in front. The visitors went into the halftime with smile on their faces, they resume the next 45 minutes of the game still dominating. Victor Osimhen scored the third in the 75th minute before scoring his brace 10 minutes later to make it 4-1.
Lesotho found the back of the net for the second time through an own goal from Chidozie Awaziem to make the score line 4-2. Nigeria now seats in the top place position in the Group L table, wining two out of two with 6 points. Benin Republic are placed second after Nigeria after they won Sierra Leone by a goal to nil in their last game.
Man of the Match, Victor Osimhem
The name on the lips of every soccer lover in Nigeria right now is the hero of the day Victor Osimhem who seems to be the next big thing in Nigeria football. Victor Osimhem was named Man of Match after providing two assists and two goals in the match. He has now scored three goals in his last three games for the Super Eagles of the Nigeria.
The LOSC Lille man is top form as he has been scoring goals for fun this season in both country and club side. He has represented the country perfectly contributing immensely to the victory of every game he has featured in. Nigeria will wait for their next African Cup of Nations 2021 Qualifier game, with the games played so far one can say they are favorite to win.
