The Lagos State Commissioner of Agriculture, Prince Gbolahan Lawal has resigned from service in the state on Thursday with immediate effect.
The now ex-commissioner of Agriculture in the state tendered his resignation on Thursday due to him becoming the new monarch of Iruland, Oniru of Iru. He was the former aide-de-camp (ADC) to the National leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Prince Lawal was born on the 24th July 1970, and he completed his first degree at the University of Port Harcourt in 1992 with a Bsc in Botany. He then went on to obtain a master’s degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), the University of London in 2008 on Violence, Conflicts and Development.
He was the Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Lagos State from 2009 to 2011, Lagos State commissioner of agriculture and cooperatives from 2011 to 2015, Lagos state commissioner for housing from 2015 and then the Lagos State Commissioner for Agriculture most recently from 2019.
He was also a member of the Police Force and retired as a superintendent of police in 2008.
