Officers of LSSC shut down Cubana, others
The officers of the Lagos State Safety Commission shut down Cubana, the popular nightlife spot alongside other nightclubs on the night of Saturday the 19th of December, 2020 for flouting the recent COVID-19 protocols put in place by the state government.
These spots were shut down for being in operation even after fresh rules had been put out, placing a ban on these forms of social gatherings for the time being.
To reduce the effect of the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, Governor Jide Sanwo-Olu , on the 10th of December, placed a ban on street parties, concerts, nightclubs and bars. This is to help reduce the spead of the virus and number of cases in the state.
With this effect, officers of the LSSC led by Lagos state commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, stormed Cubana grills and sealed it for entertaining customers against the orders given by the government.
