Super Eagles and Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has revealed his regrets as he enjoys his stardom. According to the former Manchester City star player, he said that the thought of not having his mother, who is dead, around him to see her son archive all this makes him sad.
Kelechi Iheanacho Wishes his Mum is Alive
The Nigerian international lost his mom at the very tender age of 14 after a brief illness. Kelechi Iheanacho rose to stardom a few months after her death as he was selected to represent Nigeria at FIFA U17 World Cup, which was held in UAE. Iheanacho won the best player in the competition, which made top European clubs start coming for him.
He joined Manchester City and won a league title with them before joining Leicester City. Iheanacho stated that his most significant personal regret is not having his mother alive to enjoy the fruit of her labour. According to him, he said: “I’m getting emotional now because… I wish I had my mom here to celebrate with me because she’s one person in my life that, she always stood by me. It breaks my heart when I remember she is no more, and she’s not even enjoying all this.”
