Josep Bartomeu Gives Ronald Koeman Conditions as Barca Coach
Barcelona president, Josep Bartomeu, has given a list of eight players who he considers untouchable in the club, he stressed that even as the new manager Ronald Koeman will be looking to rebuild his team he should not sell out some players. Josep Bartomeu made this known in a lengthy interview with Barcelona TV, the under-pressure Bartomeu listed squad members like Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele, Marc Andre Ter Stegen and Antoine Griezmann.
The LaLiga giants are ready to offload a number of players of which many of the players are senior team players. Following the 8-2 humiliation in the Uefa Champions League Bayern Munich did to them which resulted to the sack of their coach and appointment of former Everton boss Ronald Koeman.
Josep Bartomeu, who has refused to resign from his position, said: “Messi is untouchable and non-transferable. He knows it, we all know it.” “But there are various non-transferable players like (Marc Andre) Ter Stegen, (Clement) Lenglet, (Nelson) Semedo, (Frenkie) De Jong, (Antoine) Griezmann, (Ousmane) Dembele. Players we are counting on in the future.”
He also named 17-years-old Ansu Fati as another player who will be part of the future at Barcelona. “We have had (offers) for Ansu Fati, for example. But Barca does not want to sell players, although we receive several offers for players. “We don’t want to sell him. He has a great future. I’m telling you from here, he’s non-transferable,” Bartomeu added.
