Manchester United Humbled By Jose Mourinho
Jose Mourinho has finally come out to speak after the massive win over his former side Manchester United 6-1, according to the Portuguese international he said is an honour for both him and his Tottenham Hotspur players. Manchester United was the first to open the scoring, they were awarded a penalty in the first two minutes of the game and Bruno Fernandes handed his team the lead.
Jose Mourinho’s men came back to the game almost immediately through Harry Maguire’s defensive error, Tanguy Ndombele opened the scoring for Spurs to level the scores minutes later Harry Kane set Heung-Min Son with a play freekick as the Korean placed the ball beyond the reach of the keeper. Harry Kane and a goal each from Tanguy Ndombele and Serge Aurier secured the win.
Speaking on the big win Jose Mourinho said:” I imagine some will speak about the second half, 11 against 10. I focus on the first half, 11 vs 11, we were so, so, so good at every level. ” “We deserve so much the victory. To win 6-1 against Manchester United at Old Trafford is an honour for all of us, considering the dimension of Manchester United and Old Trafford.”
“The pleasure is not the 6-1, the pleasure is the performance and 3 points which we really need after losing points at home vs Newcastle.” He also spoke about United coach he said: “I have sympathy for Ole because of the result. I don’t remember that I lost by six but I lost by five, I lost by four. I know how we hurt. I know it’s very very important that the winning manager behaves in a way where he shows sympathy. Of course, I want to win, and of course, I want to win by seven, not by six. Don’t get me wrong.”
“But it’s sympathy in our behaviour. Today was him, tomorrow is me. Of course, I feel sympathy for him. I can imagine that he’s not going to sleep very very well. But this is the hard life of us.” “But when I look to his team, there was an evolution. It’s not like he arrives here and the team don’t improve. The team is improving, they have good players, he bought lots of young players. Very good players.”
“If it’s true that Cavani is coming, Cavani is one of the top strikers in the world. Manchester United is Manchester United. It’s not a defeat that is going to destroy them. I can imagine they will react like Manchester United always react.” “So I feel sympathy for the result, but apart from that no sympathy because he has an incredible job and it feels like the players like him, they are with him. “
“They are going to react for sure.”And on Spurs winning a trophy this season, Mourinho added: “I don’t know if we can win a trophy or not, I know we’re working very hard and well, for a long time, since we arrived. This season obviously Mr Levy and the structure of the club gave us a much-improved squad and what I told you in the first press conference of the season is that our objective is to win every match.”
“Of course we’re not going to, we’re going to lose like we lost against Everton and draw as we did against Newcastle. But the target, the objective is every match we go to win.” Manchester United have not lost two of their homes games and have only one game in the 2020/21 English Premier League season and that was the controversial win over Brighton last week.
