Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta has made it known that he will like to have Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp at Camp Nou. He said if he assumes control of the club, he will lure the German to the club.
Klopp has enjoyed remarkable success at Liverpool and has won the Premier League. He won the Uefa Champions League two season back with the club as well. All this archivements is what the Barcelona presidential candidate to replicate in Barcelona.
The German is under contract at the club until 2024. Barcelona recently appointed Ronald Koeman as Quique Setien’s successor. The former Netherlands manager is struggling for results in the league as Barca look to usurp Real Madrid as La Liga champions.
According to Spanish outlet Okdiario, Joan Laporta has earmarked Klopp as the man to steer Barcelona. He feels the manager is the right coach to direct and build the team into winning the Champions League.
However, the former Borussia Dortmund boss is extremely unlikely to leave the Anfield. Klopp previously admitted that he intends to take a break and potentially retire from management when his Liverpool deal runs out in four years’ time.
