Just about three days after denying reports that they were going through a breakup, Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas and his wife, Sara Carbonero, have confirmed that they have split.
The couple have admitted that their love had “taken separate paths.”

Despite their now-confirmed split, the couple has said that they would remain close to continue to raise their children together, something they have referred to as a “marvellous job.”
Iker Casillas and Sara have been quite supportive of each other throughout their five-year-marriage, helping each other through serious health issues in that period.

Casillas spoke about how he and Sara feel really proud of their family and the love they have shared. According to him, they shared a love that filled them with so much happiness all these years.
Announcing the breakup on Instagram, Casillas pointed out that they have considered the decision very well, and they have reached a mutual agreement.
