Finally, the Imo State Police Command, apprehended a top member of the Eastern Security Network, ESN, Simeon Onigbo, the person in charge of making Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs for the group.
Onigbo, a 50-year-old man was brought in under suspicion of manufacturing bombs for the ESN to perpetrate evil in the region, as their group has since been against the federal government for various reasons.
According to the Police spokesman, Mike Abattam, he revealed in a statement signed on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Barde, weekend, that the suspect had since confessed to the crime and promised to reveal the hideouts of the terror group.
ESN Activities
Abattam revealed in the statement that Onigbo used to produce locally-made bombs used in attacking police divisions and other government facilities in Imo, even as the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB have reportedly carried out several attacks like their counterparts.
He further mentioned that on April 20, the command received credible intelligence on the hideout where some alleged security members were manufacturing Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, used in attacking police stations and government facilities in the state.
