Antoine Griezmann Says is the Players Fault they Lost
Barcelona and France forward Antoine Griezmann has blamed his teammates for their 3-0 defeat to Juventus at Camp Nou. The player said they are not to blame the manager of the club but the players are rather to be blamed.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in first eight minutes of the game from the penalty spot as he announced his return to Spain. It was first return to Spain since he left Real Madrid in 2017/18. The first time in over two years he is meeting his rival Messi.
Weston McKennie scored the score goal to double the lead of the Italians before Ronaldo completed the scoring to end the game 3-0 and send his side to the top of Group H.
Antoine Griezmann expressed his anger with his colleagues after the game, saying their defeat boils down to their attitude towards the game. He said that their desire to achieve a result in the game was questionable.
Antoine Griezmann also said: “We were not there in the first half. It was an attitude problem. We had no desire to run, no desire to work or attack. The image is very ugly.”
The 29-year-old attacker was later asked if he was blaming the players for the defeat and he went ahead to say: “If it’s not the players’ fault whose fault can it be? We play the game. This is a real blow to wake us up.” he ended his speech
