Gospel singer Jonathan Steingard, who was a frontman of the Christian rock band Hawk Nelson, just revealed that he no longer believes in God. Taking to his Instagram account to post so, he explained that he has been afraid to open up about this part of his life. According to him, he has lost complete faith in God and wishes to make that pubic. He said his decision to open up about it is to encourage anyone struggling to own up to similar views to do so as it is the only way to be truly free.

Jonathan Steingard narrated that he grew up in a Christian home as a pastor’s son while playing and singing in the Christian band. He had to acknowledge the word Christian while at anything he did. According to him, it took several years for him to be able to come out and say openly that he no longer believes in God. He had been afraid to declare this publicly because of all he might lose if he did so.

Jonathan also claimed to have had this conversation with many of his family and friends who also grew in the church. He said that surprisingly, many of them hold similar opinions and feel the same way also. However, they fear that they might lose everything if they open up about it.

He made it clear that he has not so much to lose now. The band is not making any new music or playing shows anymore as they have all found new careers. He said he has found a new job to ensure he keeps providing for his family as it delayed his process of opening up. Jonathan reminded all those who follow him because of his previous belief not to feel like he was lying to them. He explained that he was not lying at that time as it was what he belived then.
