Gerard Pique Faced with Knee Ligament Injury
Former Manchester United Spanish Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has been sidelined for at least five months through a Knee ligament injury. The 33-year-old Spain international sprained the internal lateral ligament in his right knee and suffered a partial injury to the anterior cruciate ligament during Saturday’s loss to Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona will also be without defender Sergi Roberto for two months after he ruptured a thigh muscle. The player is the second defender in the team to be out and third in their injury list with Ansu Fati also nursing an injury. Barca is currently facing a very tough time in the 2020/21 season, they have lost their last three La Liga games.
The former La Liga champions are currently in the 11th place position with eleven points, they however have some outstanding games. They are twelves points below league leaders Real Sociedad who are with 23 points after their 1-0 away win yesterday. The 1-0 loss was Barca’s third in eight La Liga games, leaving them 10th.
