Former Liverpool and Newcastle United Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum have opened a new record with his new club Paris Saint-Germain. The Dutch international scored goals for his first Paris St-Germain even though the goals could not give the Ligue 1 side victory at the end.
Georginio Wijnaldum Scores two in PSG Draw
Georginio Wijnaldum levelled the scores after Christopher Nkunku opened the scoring for the home side in the first 8-minutes of the game. The former Liverpool man scored his first goal in the 21st minute before doubling his goal to put his side ahead in the 39th minute of the game.
Things were favouring the French side until a last-minute equaliser from Dominik Szoboszlai earned RB Leipzig a draw in their Champions League group game. Andre Silva then saw his penalty saved before Wijnaldum stabbed in.
Paris Saint-Germain was without their talisman Lionel Messi for the game after the former Barcelona forward picked up a knock on Friday. The result means the French Ligue 1 side has now dropped to second in Group A as English Premier League side Manchester City beat Club Bruges 4-1 to top the group.
