The Federal Government of Nigeria says it has rolled out schemes targeted at supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
In a tweet via the official handle of the Government of Nigeria, it was revealed that the schemes would save 300,000 jobs in 100,000 MSMEs.
The scheme would also guarantee offtake of priority products such as processed foods, Personal protective equipment, hand sanitizers, face masks, face shields, shoe covers, pharmaceuticals among others.
FG To Support Small Businesses
The first track of the scheme which has been estimated at 15 billion naira is to be implemented by the Ministry of trade.

Also, the second track will see to the establishment of the SME survival fund to sustain at least 500,000 jobs in 50,000 SMEs.
It is estimated to cost 50 billion naira for the provision of payroll support, 200 billion naira for loans to artisans, and 10 billion naira support to private transport companies and workers.
Meanwhile, it was stated that details on how the MSMEs could be accessed would soon be unveiled by the implementation committee.
It was gathered that the chair of the Committee is the Minister of State, Trade and investment, Mariam Katagum, while the Vice-Chair is the chairman of First Bank, Ibukun Awosika.
