The popular music group split up in 2004 and has gone solo since then. Asides Innocent Idibia i.e. 2baba who is still relevant till today, much have not been heard of the pair of BlackFace and Faze. It is therefore a huge news to see Faze, one of the top soloists in Nigeria at a time to be back with a song titled ‘Lovina’ which is a hit.
Who is Faze?
Faze with the real name Chibuzor Orji is a popular name you would hear in the Nigerian music industry if you were born in the last two decades. He is a Nigerian musician and actor. He is born in Delta State, Nigeria. His musical genre includes R&B, pop, reggae, and Nigerian hip hop. He’s currently signed to Independent Entertainment record label.
The artist has paid his dues when it comes to entertainment in Nigeria. Along with other members of Plantashun Boyz, Faze was one of the headlines acts in Nigeria in the early 2000s. His first album ‘Faze Alone’ sold over three million copies, while his second album titled ‘Independent’ has sold over 7 million copies. His third album titled ‘Originality’ also went platinum in its first month of release. He holds the record of the first Nigerian to have three consecutive albums.
One of Faze’s song titled ‘Originality’ was once a national anthem in Nigeria. The song was also used as campaign theme song for Political parties in the country. He’s just a top artist that is known for his ability to sing the highest vocal note out of Nigerian male musicians. He has shared the studio with some top musicians in the world notable among them are Wyclef Jean, Akon, Busta Rhymes, and so on.

Faze who was once stated by American hip hop star Busta Rhymes as one of his favourite’s Afro-hip-hop star has been off the music scene for a while. The talented vocalist who won the Hip-Hop world award for Best vocalist in 2006 is known for releasing hits.
His new hit released recently is titled ‘Lovina’ and its surely a massive hit. The visuals for this love-themed song has also been released and was directed by TG Omori. He sampled Afro-beats legend, Fela Kuti on this one. The line ‘Water e no get enemy’ was used in style in the new hit song lyrics. There’s also a Fela-Anikulapo-Kuti art in the visual that shows Afrobeats to the world.
